Monstera aureopinata is a rare and sought-after species from the Monstera genus, known for its spectacular leaf colouring. Its leaves are large, heart-shaped and have a beautiful green base colour with striking golden-yellow veins, which give the plant its name. The fenestrated (incised) leaves are characteristic of Monstera species, but Monstera aureopinata clearly stands out with its intense and bright leaf colouring.

  • Monstera aureopinata is relatively easy to care for if the right conditions are observed:

    •  Light: This plant prefers bright, indirect light. Too much direct sunlight can burn the leaves, while too little light can lead to weaker growth and less pronounced leaf cuts.
    •  Watering: Keep the substrate evenly moist, but not wet. Allow the top layer of soil to dry slightly between waterings to avoid waterlogging, as this can lead to root rot. Watering can be reduced during the winter months.
    •  Humidity: As Monstera aureopinata originates from tropical regions, it prefers high humidity (over 60 %). It can be helpful to spray the plant regularly or use a humidifier to create its ideal conditions.
    •  Temperature: This Monstera species thrives best at temperatures between 18 and 27 °C. It should be protected from cool draughts and sudden changes in temperature.
